Homemade Peach Ice Cream

Ingredients
  • 4 peaches, pitted, halved horizontally, then thinly sliced
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 1½ cups of granulated sugar, divided
  • 1½ cups of whole milk
  • 2¾ cups heavy cream
  • 1½ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine the peaches, lemon juice, and ½ cup sugar. Stir gently to coat, allow peaches to macerate in their own juices for 2 hours.
  2. Strain peaches, reserving juice. Mash or puree half the peaches and reserve.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, using a hand mixer on low speed, combine milk and remaining sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream, reserved peach juice, mashed or pureed peaches, vanilla, and cinnamon. Mix well to incorporate.
  5. Put in fridge for at least 8 hours for flavors to marry.
  6. Follow ice cream maker instructions to finished product.
