This is a really easy homemade pizza sauce that is out of this world. There are only 3-4 real ingredients, salt and pepper are freebies and pretty much used in everything.
There’s tomato sauce, or diced tomatoes pureed, good quality olive oil, and garlic. That’s the 3. To get to 4 you can add red pepper flakes for a little heat, ’tis up to you.
Basic Homemade Pizza Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 - 15 oz. can tomato sauce, or diced tomatoes pureed
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced or run through a garlic press
- 2 tbsp good quality olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Over medium heat, pour olive oil into a small sauce pan and then add garlic. Saute for no more than a minutes to flavor the oil, you don't want to burn the garlic.
- Add tomato sauce, or pureed diced tomatoes, salt and pepper, and red pepper flakes, whisk to combine.
- Bring to boil and reduce to simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring often, until thickened.
- Set off of heat until ready to use. Can be stored in the fridge.
